Birmingham Children’s Hospital Trust purchases a licence to use EQMS

Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Trust is the latest NHS Trust to purchase a licence to use EQMS. The Trust provides a wide range of general and specialist health services to children and adolescents within the West Midlands and beyond. As Birmingham's lead provider of health services for children, the hospital NHS Trust enjoys a national and international reputation in many specialist areas. The Trust’s state-of-the-art radiology department houses CT and MRI scanners whilst a 20-bed Intensive Treatment Unit is the single largest paediatric resource in the UK, alongside the country's largest oncology unit for children.

EQMS will be utilised by the Trust’s transplantation unit to manage compliance with JACIE, the Human Tissue Act and other critical standards. The system will provide controlled access to and the review and update of important policy and Standard Operating Procedures. Compliance with declared policies and procedures is critical to patient safety and underpins the quality of care provided.

Robert Oakley, Commercial Director of Qualsys said, “We are delighted to welcome Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Trust to the rapidly growing band of Trusts that we work with. We are looking forward to working with them to improve the quality of care provided and allow their team to focus on day-to-day activity rather than the huge administrative burden that is the all-too-common by-product of regulatory compliance."
